HOW TO MAKE A SUIT LOOK MORE FEMININE

wallaceyolicia.com-black_female_fashion_vbloggers_2018-Nakd_striped_long_blazer-side_slit_suit_pants_dark_navyEven though today’s outfit could be a tip continuation of the 70’s outfit inspiration for spring ‘s post, it won’t be about it this time.  In fact, I know some of you sometimes doubt yourself and ask “Can I pull off that look” while seeing that ladies who usually rock any trend seem to be fashionistas, celebs or  »supermodels » especially when it comes about wearing suits — they can definitely be a little overwhelming if you’re new to wearing them. Plus, the matchy stiffness while wearing a suit can really have you ending up with a masculine outfit whereas  you didn’t want that. If you’re looking for tips on how to make this trend work for you, here are some suggestions on how to make a suit look more feminine. First of all, don’t be afraid to experiment prints if you think a plain suit is too manly for your style. Soften up the look and go for a  floral print suit one instead. Floral suits are great for really getting that feminine look going but if you want something simple, you can always go for other print patterns / designs  such as a plaid suit as well. If, on the other hand, you want to make a statement with your suit, I would suggest going for a geometrical print suit with lots of different colors for visual interest. Secondly, play around with shapes and silhouettes,it is another really good way to soften up a suit and make it look more feminine. For instance, ditch the usual blazer jacket silhouette and go for a peplum blazer instead. You can also try going for a palazzo-style pair of pants instead of the traditional trousers. When it comes to what silhouette flatters what body type, keep in mind that longer, straight-cut trousers work best for fuller figures and pear shapes, while pinstripes elongate any frame. For petites, go for ankle-skimming, slim-cut trousers without a turn-up and avoid ultra-long sleeves.  For curvier figures, slightly roomier jacket will suit you most, but shun much volume such as double-breasted pieces and choose fabrics that skim rather than cling. Lastly, what’s better at making a suit look more feminine than wearing it with heels? If you’re wearing a pantsuit, make sure your pants hit you just right by the ankle and then add a pair of strappy color block sandals or stilettos and you’re good to go. If you’re petite and you want your legs to look longer, you can wear a skirt suit instead, preferably at midi length, and then wear it with heels. If you want to stick to the more masculine pantsuit but still with a feminine touch like me, then complete your look with a pair of mules or pointed flats.
