When you’re studying for finals (my case right now), good nutrition often slides way down on the priority list. It’s easy to get into the habit of glugging coffee and gobbling take-out foods at any time in the day  because you don’t want to waste time on food preparation especially during the morning. Well, people often make excuses for why they can’t eat breakfast. Many say they’re too busy in the morning to prepare a well-balanced meal. However, actually, good nutrition should be part of your study plan because it’s going to help you ace those tests. The better the fuel your brain gets, the better you’ll study. Even if you’re part of those who say they aren’t hungry in the morning or they can’t think of anything other than the basic cereal and milk meal to start their days off right – All it takes is a little planning and you’ll be on the road to breakfast success. Start off small by trying to at least eat something in the morning. A good nutrition should be part of your study plan as well, so the best ways to eat smart ? Meet breakfast, your new study buddy ! Plan and prepare your breakfast the night before or wake up about ten minutes earlier to ensure ample time to throw together a healthy morning meal.

Regarding what you ‘ll eat, there’s no doubt that eating fruits is one of the first key to succeed the perfect breakfast during finals! Not only being important to your overall health and wellbeing, incorporating them in your morning will give your digestive system more powerful benefits through vitamin intake and improved digestion. Go on bananas, blueberries (which can be bought frozen in bags) as they contain powerful antioxidants and other nutrients. Plus, the natural sugars in fruits offer clean energy, so you don’t experience the crash that follows consumption of refined sugar. For instance, here is an example a quick breakfast inspired by Migros summer recipes that includes a healthy fruits bowl with several nuts, frozen berries and soja yoghurt I always make especially when I’m going through my university exams period. It doesn’t require hours of preparation but only less than 10 minutes.
Certainly, coffee and a donut won’t give you the right nutrients. The idea is to get some protein, calcium, fibre and a piece of fruit or a vegetable in there. So, a bowl of cereal with milk and a piece of fruit would do the trick. Remember that, the best time to eat a bounty of fruits is either first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. So before having your finals revision, or before passing your exam ,consider fruits salad, an apple or go for fruits smoothie. The smoothie option is fine to consume nut milk or coconut milk with fruits, but in small amounts and not every time. You will avoid most digestive problems, feel energized, you’ll look and feel energized because your body will be fully absorbing all the vitamins, fiber and healthy carbohydrates that it needs to function in good health.
