HOW TO STYLE BROWN & BEIGE THIS SUMMER
Before diving again into my University exams period(still drowning though) , I hosted last month, the NRj Fashion Night event in Zurich presented by Mercedes Benz. Followed by ModeSuisse, NRj Fashion Night is one of the biggest fashion show in Switzerland where 6’500 people are expected to come. More than just a fashion show, I’d say it was an interesting way to get part of the Europe fashion melting pot and meeting in person some swiss influencers from different fields of the swiss fashion industry. Other than this, NRj set high standards by inviting Feder, a french deep house DJ, most well known for his »Goodbye » (feat lyse) song. Plus, Toni Garrn, one of the Victoria’s Secret models was also part of their special guests. In fact, during the show, she catwalked with several swiss brands that presented their newest lines such as Esprit, Beldona, Yves by Globus and Steinrohner. As far as I’m concerned, I had the pleasure to try on the last Esprit Summer collection they presented at the NRj Fashion Night. It allowed me to give to my personal fashion taste, a different approach of the summer style this year. As you may have noticed, beige shades in combination with brown will be my favorite must-wear colors this season.
It cannot be denied that those neutral color had always been quite controversial. They can indeed be a tough color to wear depending on your specific skin color, but they can also look very chic, if worn in the right way. Sure, everyone loves black, but as it turns out, brown and beige are just as versatile, plus a lot less predictable. When paired with a variety of other colors such as pink, burgundy(a blast on a bold suede dress),light blue, grey or army green colors, they look surprisingly sophisticated. To ensure that your outfit doesn’t look cheap, wear different beige or brown shades that match your style look. It’s more shimmery and golden which brighten up the complexion and is therefore easier to wear. You understood it, it helps to wear a vibrant tone to break your outfit up with a bright accessory such as my Masaai Color‘s bag. Incidentally, I’m really supporting that brand as they want to create stability in a deprived part of Kenya. They provide a premium African bags that are handmade and produced in their own workshop in down-town Nairobi. So, your support to their brand activity would be more than welcomed regarding the cause worth getting behind.
All in all, choose shades that suit your complexion well or that make you happy and confident. Play with various colors and young & hip accessories like contemporary jewelry or a funky bag and use brown or beige as your canvas. This current outfit is one among thousand other outfits examples on how you can still look confortable in your casual, wearable 3 mixed colors look.
